Passthrough AR vs. Mixed Reality: What’s What?!
You’ll hear these terms a lot…
Passthrough AR is basically using a VR headset’s cameras to let you see your surroundings with a sexy overlay. It’s like looking through a window – you see your room through the headset and a virtual porn star is augmented into it.
When people talk about Mixed Reality (MR), it’s just a fancy way of saying the virtual bits behave more realistically in your space (with proper lighting, shadows, occlusion, etc.)… but in casual use people often lump it together with AR porn.
It doesn’t really matter what you wanna call it. AR, MR, or passthrough, the idea is the same – porn in your real world, and yes, it’s pretty bloody hot.

Truth be told, there’s very little to choose between the top platforms… and your preference will probably come down to which of the small (but growing number of) thumbnails catches your eye.

Subscribers can argue back and forth over whether VRPorn or SexLikeReal is the true top-doggy-on-sauce for AR, but as far as I’m concerned… VRPorn.com is the vastly superior offering overall.
(I use it for both games and traditional VR porn, so I’m biased.)
Anyway, VRPorn.com is like a Netflix of VR/AR porn – an aggregator with tons of content and now a true AR trailblazer. They’ve started releasing exclusive passthrough AR videos on the regular (yup, new AR scenes every week) and bundling other studios’ AR content into one subscription, which is really useful (if you hate subs piling up that you’ve forgotten about).
For me, it’s the best bang-for-your-buck option because one membership gets you hundreds of AR-enabled scenes plus thousands of standard VR videos from big studios like VR Bangers and Badoink… and VR porn games, too. In practice, that means on VRPorn I can cue up an AR scene and see a performer projected into my room, doing her thing in full 3D, all while my cat is utterly confused by the invisible friend I’ve invited over.
The variety is huge. VRPorn hosts content from multiple studios, so you get different types of AR experiences – from simple background-removed videos to more elaborate mixed reality setups. They’ve recently added content from Czech AR (an offshoot of Czech VR), one of the earliest movers in this space.

2. Real Girls Now
Real Girls Now is essentially Naughty America’s AR Strip Club reborn. This site offers real pornstars captured as 3D holograms you can place in your environment.
It was one of the pioneers of AR porn, and one of the first premium sites to offer a monthly subscription under the famous Naughty America banner.
Fire up the mobile app (or webAR viewer), and you can drop a life-sized model of a famous adult star into your living room and watch her dance, strip or… do other things that might violate your Roomba’s warranty.
Impressively, these aren’t cheap-o flat videos – they’re volumetrically scanned, meaning you can physically move around them in 360°.
I tried it on my phone and nearly walked into my wall circling a model like some sex-starved cretin. Even cooler, on a Quest 3 I could use passthrough to view these performers in full AR without holding a phone. The experience is obviously so much better if you are lucky enough to have a headset.
The main drawback with RGN is limited content.
This is a relatively new/novel platform, and while Naughty America has revived it, the library isn’t huge yet. I struggle to see how they’re going to maintain momentum just by being the “first to do it” when major players like VRPorn and SLR are now cracking out these passthrough clips at scale.
3. SexLikeReal

So, yes, we come to SexLikeReal… which is one of the largest VR porn libraries, and it hasn’t missed the AR gravy train either.
SLR has started adding AR-ready scenes filmed against green screens for passthrough fun.
Perhaps even more intriguingly, they’ve started bringing live cam girls directly into your room with the latest AR technology. From what I saw, it’s still a very small handful of performers that are viewable in this way, but it could be a growth market in the future.
With SLR’s app on my Quest, I was able to watch dozens of AR porn scenes where the background was totally removed. SLR essentially uses the headset’s AR function to “hologram-ify” their videos. They were among the first to experiment with this, so kudos to them for innovating in an already innovative space.
SLR’s strength is that even aside from AR, it’s one of the best platforms for sheer quality of VR content (think 6K/8K 180º stereoscopic, interactive scripts for toys, etc.). Now with AR passthrough, you get the best of both worlds.
In many ways, the service is similar to VRPorn.com, but I personally prefer VRPorn.com since they bundle in access to some of the leading VR porn games in the space (which I spend a lot of hours reviewing here for AdultVisor).
4. ARPorn.com / ARConk
I fired up ARPorn after hearing it had muscled in and taken ARConk’s spot in the VR Bangers network. Five minutes later I was face-to-face with an 8K hologram of Angel Youngs bouncing on my sofa. Nice upgrade.
Previously, from what I remember, AR Conk offered an Android app that was capable of serving up AR porn through a simple phone camera. Well, it looks like the network has shifted focus to just producing content, with users encouraged to download the PLAY’A app instead.
Smart decision, really, considering how much traction PLAY’A already has as the ‘go-to’ app for VR/AR.
What we’re left with on ARPorn.com is a limited but polished set of AR clips, each running between 40 to 90 minutes in length. The production is typically VR Bangers: very high standard. Shots are sharp, lighting pops against passthrough, and the girls know where the lens (and your eyes) are.
A few caveats if choosing this site: while it’s a cheap subscription (as low as $8.33/month), the content library is still fairly small (new scenes drop weekly). Those scenes are passive video, not volumetric scans. I can’t walk a full circle or change positions like I can with Real Girls Now’s holograms, but the POV is dialled for one-to-one intimacy… and it works.
The site also lacks mobile AR (for now), which is strange since the old ARConk had this nailed down.
VRPorn and SLR both offer much more choice, but I wouldn’t want to bet against Team VR Bangers in the quality stakes. One to keep an eye on, for sure.
5. Czech AR
Czech AR launched in November 2023 with a free facesitting sample video in crystal clear 8K quality.
(If you can’t imagine the lovely PAWG above hanging from your ceiling, I guess that makes you late to the party.)
Czech AR comes from the same team behind Czech VR (a popular Prague-based studio known for high-quality VR porn), and they’ve now applied their expertise to mixed reality scenes.
I found Czech AR’s content quite enticing – the performers are mostly up-and-coming European talent, but I can’t say I recognised many of the names. Production-wise, they clearly know their stuff. The video is nice and sharp with good lighting, and careful camerawork to suit AR.
They figured out that scenes with darker backgrounds and well-lit performers work best for passthrough (so the performer stands out and the background can be made transparent or simply not distracting). Czech AR leverages that, giving scenes that almost naturally blend into your surroundings.
It looks like they had a bit of a content pause (just two new releases from June – December 2024), but things have picked up and they now appear to be releasing on a bi-weekly schedule.
One major downside – if you want to get the premium content, you’ll need to buy the full Czech Network pass ($24/month). The network offers a much wider spread of content, but it’s not the best choice if you only want AR vids.
6. Discplay.me
Discplay.me is an Android app that offers token-based 30-minute rentals of amateur AR porn filmed by real models all over the world.
To create content, models register with the app, and can then create their own AR scenes by shooting against a green background.
When a user pays to watch the scene, the Discplay.me app removes the background and places the model into the viewer’s room via AR.
It’s reasonably sophisticated – the app scans the environment first so that models are positioned realistically on the floor, and adds some basic shadows to enhance the realism even more.
While watching, there’s a simple slider to adjust the scale of the AR hologram, so if the app didn’t quite make it the right size, you can override that.
