CHYOO is an erotic ‘choose your own path’ site with over 5,700 adult stories. It has been around since 2002, and is owned by the same company that runs Literotica (the OG of erotic sex stories).
For a while, it was the place to write and explore branching smut. The interface looked like a budget wiki — you’d read a paragraph of text, then click a hyperlinked choice to move to the next bit. Simple. Ugly. Functional. But boy, was it full of filth.
The real appeal of CHYOO wasn’t the layout, or the tech (God no), but the community-driven chaos. Anyone could write a story. Anyone could add a new branch to an existing story. Which meant you’d start reading something fairly tame — “A Day at the Office” — and ten clicks later, you were balls-deep in a werewolf breeding cult written by a teenager with a vivid imagination and no spellcheck. It was oh so glorious.
At some point, Literotica promised a big site update — CHYOO 2.0, or 3.0, or just something that didn’t look like it was slapped together on Geocities in the nineties. That update never came. The message is no longer there, but I don’t think the update is ever coming. CHYOO.com is still technically online, or at least accessible as I write this today… but it’s basically a digital museum now. The fap party is over and the contributions have dried up completely.
